About Ann Marie

Ann Marie McQueen launched Hotflash inc in June 2020 to cover the exploding modern menopause and midlife movement. Her goal was to weight coverage across scientific evidence, expert opinion and human experience and to acknowledge that it is a mind, body, soul and community transition – the ultimate heroine’s journey home.

She has since interviewed hundreds of doctors, produced 600+ research letters and appeared on panels from Dubai to New York City.

Through her newsletters on Substack, the Hotflash inc Podcast and, starting in 2025, the Hotflash inc Summit, and on social media, she looks at the whole story. That includes the latest clinical studies, treatments, products, controversies, personalities, guidance and more.

Hotflash inc subscribers include some of the top CEOs, doctors and other practitioners in the space, alongside curious, open-minded women and other folks seeking to connect the dots and find their own solutions, all part of a fast-growing 70k+ global community.

Ann Marie has been a disruptor for much of her 30-year journalism career. That includes covering the early days of marijuana law reform, holistic and alternative treatments, transgender issues and abortion rights in North America and accessibility, solar power, and the Special Olympics in the Middle East. She was a national columnist and trends writer for Sun Media in Canada, part of the launch team and served as news, arts and life, and features editor for The National newspaper in the UAE, and was the first sustainability columnist in the Gulf. Ann Marie was founding editor-in-chief of Live healthy, the first health and wellness platform for men and women in the Middle East.
